Solly's Tamales has been around since 1939 and still continues today. It's a small restaurant with a quiet homely feeling. You might find a couple of older people debating the day's news in this down to earth restaurant. It only has a few tables and that seemed to be enough.
Southern Tamales
The main course of the restaurant is guess what, tamales! The cornmeal around the ground meat is a classic example of southern cooking. The finely ground and mushy beef is somewhat low quality and the overall taste didn't save the overall rating. A sweet ice tea helps to wash down the cornmeal and ground beef because they like to stick to your throat. And if you don't try it with the hot sauce(the Cajun Chef on the left of the picture) you missed a whole new flavor experience. The bad quality of the ingredients messed up the flavor so it got a not so great 1.5/5 star rating.
